1.OU "Nikola Vaptsarov' situated in the town of Berkovitsa, in the mountainous part of North-West Bulgaria, about 80 km far away from Sofia,the capital of Bulgaria. The area is beautiful, but it is one of the poorest regions in the EU. Most of the local population are considered people with fewer opportunities. An essential part of our work at school is to support children with disadvantaged backgrounds and to remove any obstacles before them. The teaching staff offers a blend of highly experienced experts and new innovative university graduates who share their best practices in teaching. The school develops projects aimed to give an opportunity all students gain the competencies they need in the rapidly changing knowledge society.

To achieve these aims, our school has been participating in different projects for a long time.
